Disruption by Design: A Building Resilience Workshop

We’re pleased to announce that AHC’s President & CEO, Richard (“Rick”) Maher, will be presenting again at this year’s Garden State Chapter of Society of Human Resources (SHRM) conference.

The GSC-SHRM Conference & Expo, scheduled for October 17-19, 2021, marks the 30th anniversary of this important event and is focused on supporting the on-going information and development needs of the State/s human resource professionals. Conducted virtually again this year, the event will continue the long history of the Chapter’s on-going contribution to the Human Resource community.

Maher will be presenting “Disruption by Design: A Building Resiliency Workshop” on Monday, October 17. This high-impact workshop is designed for employees at all levels and builds awareness of their individual change response. The session features AHC’s proprietary research of the characteristics of both individual and organizational resilience and includes tools to help participants gain new insight on their tendencies in dealing with change and uncertainty.

Each participant will be offered free access to AHC’s online Individual Resiliency AssessmentÓ to gain insight to their natural strengths and areas for professional development for better coping with change and uncertainty. Finally, Rick will introduce the Six Critical Traits of Agile Organizations and the leader’s role in curating a culture that better supports employee resilience through change.

“The Disruption by Design series is really an exercise in self-discovery and a better understanding of how humans cope in a VUCA world,” says Maher. “In these times, that requires a mindset that is open to disruptive innovation. We’re never going to change this slow again, so leaders – indeed everyone – needs to focus their energy on improving their resilience. We’re going to help them do that on October 17!”
