Rick Maher to present at SHRM-NJ Conference

Disruption by Design: A Building Resilience Workshop

We’re pleased to announce that AHC’s President & CEO, Richard (“Rick”) Maher, will be leading a workshop at this year’s Garden State Chapter of Society of Human Resources (SHRM) conference

The GSC-SHRM Conference & Expo, scheduled for October 11-13, 2020, marks the 29th anniversary of this important event and is focused on supporting the on-going information and development needs of the State/s human resource professionals. Due to the pandemic, the Conference & EXPO will take place virtually, but nonetheless continue the long history of the Chapter’s on-going contribution to the HR community.

Maher will be presenting a pre-conference workshop to open the show on October 11, entitled “Disruption by Design: A Building Resiliency Workshop.” The session features AHC’s research of the characteristics of both individual and organizational resilience, and includes tools such as our Individual Resiliency AssessmentÔ to help participants gain new insight on their tendencies in dealing with change and uncertainty.

“The Disruption by Design series is really an exercise in self-discovery and a better understanding of how humans cope in a VUCA world,” says Maher. “For me this is about managing yourself and others through change and, in these times, that requires a mindset that is open to disruptive innovation. We’re not going back to normal and leaders need to focus instead, and building a better normal and there’s no better time than now to begin!”
